Discover the self-empowering practice of Qigong (chee gung) or 'energy cultivation.' As one of the world’s oldest and most complete systems of healing, we harness the power of slow, gentle movement to cultivate our vital life force. Utilizing intention and awareness, we do so by creating a more efficient functioning of the body. As the basis for all martial arts, we build inner strength and steadiness in an unstable world. Reflection and Self-Portrait: A Process Art Workshop

This all- levels class is for folks who are interested in self -reflection and perhaps discovering the beauty at the core of yourself. We will do some writing, read some poetry, and practice using different materials on paper. You will have the opportunity to use pencil, pen, charcoal, oil pastels, and crayons to create a deeply layered self-portrait. I will share strategies for quieting your inner critic and for accessing a sense of freedom in your art making.

Expect to get messy, to do some deep listening, to laugh, to be surprised, and to question your view of what constitutes a “good” portrait.
